What I've Committed To

Critical thinking, determination and motivation are a few words that describe my work ethic.  I am a detail orientated person with a passion to lead by example. Whether it’s exploring unique opportunities, learning additional skills, or meeting new people, I bring these values to every experience throughout my life on a personal and professional level.

My career at Nexteer has allowed me to explore opportunities within Production Control and Logistics, ranging across both external customer and supplier areas of focus.  I am also committed to support and growth of the internal customer...our Nexteer manufacturing plants.

EXPERIENCE

NEW PROGRAM LAUNCH MATERIAL COORDINATOR,
NEXTEER AUTOMOTIVE

February 2012 - current

Coordination of 150 purchased parts and 100 different suppliers located both domestically and globally
Facilitation and procurement of incoming material for MQ1, MQ2 and PPAP events in order to provide pre-production validation
Constant communication with supply base in order to utilize most cost efficient logistical means
Development of matrixes used by entire launch team to prepare for several production exercise events, including run at rates for customer
Coordinate appropriate mix of purchase parts for complex production line change overs as needed

MASTER PLANNER AND FORECASTER,
NEXTEER AUTOMOTIVE

April 2004 - February 2012

Interface with customers, manufacturing plants and functional staff on daily scheduling issues.
Maintenance of data integrity with receipt of customer demand and through the MRP system to supply base
52 week forecast generation and analysis for supply base as well as financial planning as it pertained to plant budgets for inventory warehouse management, utilization of line time, logistical costs and manpower

September 2016 - August 2018

Master of Arts - Applied Communication (MA).  This degree, designed to work in a cohort setting, helped develop collaborative and meaningful relationships.  Focused around real-world project that were designed to make a difference in any organization, the skill set obtained in this program will enhance my career goals, both in current and future positions.

UNIVERSITY OF MICHIGAN - FLINT

September 1993 - May 1997

Bachelor of Arts - Organizational Communication (BA).  Focused around developing the skills to enhance critical thinking, communicating clearly and solving complex problems, this specific area of concentration has been key in every setting to help me be an effective communicator.

YEAR ONE CAPSTONE

Burton Senior Activity Center asked our project team to examine ways to improve its branding and marketing approaches, to more effectively convey services offered, as well as increase attendance at workshops and events.

Part One

YEAR TWO CAPSTONE

The first half of our Year Two Capstone project encompassed a consulting assignment to help the UM-Flint Intercultural Center (ICC) develop a social media plan to help promote their mission statement and educate the campus about their goals.

Part Two

YEAR TWO CAPSTONE

The second half of our Year Two Capstone project was focused around development of a white paper that could be used at any higher educational facility, to identify the best practices of social media utilization on campus.
